Selected character and prop designs for various animation videos done for a client.

A character design takes around 30 minutes to an hour depending on the type of character needed for the animation - historical figure, representing a certain era, etc... Prop designs take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. It's often challenging to design a character depicting any of the 20th century decades as many of the current modern fashions often overlap fashions from those eras. And, given the time constraints, I often spend the better part of the designing doing reference research in order to quickly glean what differentiates one era's fashion from our current one. It's also a great learning process to design various modern characters thinking about the myriad of ways clothes are worn and the types of clothing worn by different cultures and peoples.
